Royal Swann 1.01: A Soon-To-Be Restaurant Empire

“Okay, I’m here, now what?”

Chadwick Swann turned and looked at his best friend Deja Royal. She showed up early in the morning just like he asked. Getting her to show up was the easy part, now would come the hard part.

“You know you’re my best friend,” said Chad.

“Don’t I know it. You never would’ve made it through school without me!”

“Remember how we always talked about starting our own business?”

“Of course I do,” said Deja, “but why am I here?”

“Right, yes, to the point,” said Chad.  He could see Deja wasn’t going to let him tell his whole story to try and get her interest piqued.

Chad explained to Deja that he got this house for them so they could be roommates. It made sense for them to be roommates so they could share their bills. He figured the money they saved on household bills could be more money they would put into their restaurant.

“Restaurant! Well, why didn’t you just say so?”

“I wasn’t sure how you’d feel about me jumping into this without asking you about it first,” said Chad.

“If you’re doing it to jump start our dreams,” said Deja, “I don’t mind at all!”

She looked up at the house. “I think it’s kinda cute. I don’t think I’ll mind living here at all.”

They moved right into the house and got settled. Their kitchen was nice, but the rest of the house was pretty simple. No clutter or decorations. Just a bed in each of two bedrooms. The living room seemed to have the most in it with a TV, a computer, and an easel. Those purchases made sense as investments because they would provide fun, help with skills, and help with income.

Chad and Deja both decided not to get a job, but to work from home and earn enough money to buy their first restaurant. They wanted to start completely from scratch, so they had their eyes set on the turning the vacant residential lot next door into a restaurant.

Every Sim starting out knows the best way to invest in your financial future is to start a garden. Chad and Deja ordered starter seed packs online and harvested all the plants in their neighborhood. They also started fishing, looking for frogs in logs, an digging up everything in sight.

They started their garden in the space that should’ve been their backyard.

“I’m so glad we’re doing this together,” said Chad as he planted a garlic bulb.

“Me too,” said Deja as she planted a snapdragon flower, “and just think about it. These crops will one day earn enough money to help us build our empire.”

When they weren’t gardening, they were in the house. Deja painted and sold each painting for more money than the last.

Chad started writing books, all about cooking. He’d written almost 5 complete books before he had enough skill to sell them to a publisher.

After going around the neighborhood several times to find harvestables, Deja finally investigated the strange tree.

She was amazed at what she found after exploring the tree.

There were lots of interesting plants, fish, and frogs in the glade. Deja told Chad all about it over their next meal. He was happy to hear that they’re neighborhood contained so many interesting corners.

It wasn’t long before their hard work began to pay off. The garden was starting to really come together.

Chad and Deja earned enough money to buy the lot next door to their house. Having it close by put them at ease.

“So what do you think? I think this neighborhood is the perfect spot for our first restaurant,” said Chad.

“I agree,” said Deja. “I think it’s perfect.

They had only enough money to cover the cost of the land and a hostess station. So they set that up to mark the start of a whole new chapter in their lives.

“Now what?”

“Now we go home and earn some more money!”

Chad and Deja took one last happy look at their hostess station, then headed home to paint, write, fish, and garden.
